About
The California Migration Museum is a new kind of museum — a museum without walls. We create immersive experiences that take you out into the neighborhoods where immigrant stories began and continue to unfold.

Accessible Stories
We tell history that matters today, using tomorrow’s technology.
Our free, web-based experiences invite you to walk right into the past and uncover stories of exclusion, displacement and resilience on a city street or from wherever you are in the world.
Immersive History
First-person audio narratives that guide you through living neighborhoods. Augmented reality scenes that transport you 100 years into the past. An interactive food map of San Francisco’s immigrant eats.
Our free, immersive experiences help make history something you can see, hear, feel and taste.

Building Empathy
Immigrants are essential to the story of California, and have been since the very beginning.
At a time when history is at risk of being erased, our creative work centers the voices of immigrants and refugees.
It helps build empathy with immigrants’ experiences and upholds the value of history itself — not only as the means by which we understand our past, but also as a guide to our shared future.
